MANAGEMENT DEVELOPMENT

This programme is designed to enable managers to function effectively within their role.

It will provide them with the 'tool kit, of knowledge and skills and give the opportunity to apply them in a risks free environment during the programme.

The programme will not only build their competence, but will improve their confidence and ability to use what they will learn.

It will provide a format to learn from their on-going experiences and continuously improve their performance at work


Purpose

To develop and improve the range of skills/knowledge needed to manage and lead people effectively in today’s rapidly changing environment.

1 To explore the purpose of the Organisation.

1.1 Managers understand the context within which they work

2 To introduce the basic Management Model.

2.1 Managers practice using the model and apply it at work.

3 To define the roles and responsibility of Managers in terms of both managing and leading.

3.1 Managers have a clear understanding of their roles and responsibilities at work.

4 To be aware of the range of different skills and styles appropriate to managing people.

4.1     Managers will identify their preferred style and develop other styles.   
4.2     Managers will receive  feedback on their own management style.

5 To increase awareness of change management and its impact on others.

5.1 Managers will be able to and minimise disruption at work.

6 To develop team skills.

6.1 Managers will be able to establish common team goals and recognise how to maximise the team contribution to achieve those goals.
